Using the Add-in for Excel

Once you've installed and signed in, the add-in pane has two parts: a Selection section at the top and a Tabs section at the bottom.

Selection section

The top of the add-in reflects the cell(s) you have selected in your worksheet, along with any context CloseCore has for them.

For example, when you select a #cc- tag cell (or the balance cell just to the left of a #cc- tag), the add-in shows the reconciliation context for that account. Click through to the Trial Balance to pull the list of transactions from your ERP for that account and period, right next to your workpaper.

Tabs section

The bottom of the pane has up to five tabs. Not all of them are enabled for every account:

  1. Checklist: the checklist tasks assigned to you, so you can see and act on your work from Excel.
  2. Auto Export: manage and refresh the auto-exports in the current spreadsheet (for example, a NetSuite Saved Search) without closing the file. See the NetSuite RESTlet guide.
  3. Journal Entries: search for a journal entry by number and see CloseCore's context for it.
  4. Transactions: load transactions for any account and paste them into any cell or sheet for analysis.
  5. Assistant: CloseCore's AI Assistant, with context on your current sheet. It can manipulate your spreadsheet based on a prompt.

Signing off from Excel

Because the add-in reads your #cc- balances and the ERP balance, you can correct a reconciliation in your workpaper and sign off without switching to the browser. If sign-off doesn't succeed right after you edit a balance, give the document a minute or two to sync and try again. See Troubleshooting.
