QuickBooks
CloseCore connects to both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop / Enterprise.
QuickBooks Online
QuickBooks Online is a self-service connection:
- Go to Admin → ERP or the setup page and choose to add a QuickBooks connection.
- Sign in with your Intuit account and authorize CloseCore.
- Select the company (entity) to connect.
QuickBooks Online is a great starting point for a phased rollout: connect one QBO entity first to try CloseCore, then add more complex entities later.
Account numbers in custom reports
QuickBooks Online custom reports include only accounts that have an account number. Transactions posted to accounts without an account number are excluded from custom report data and totals. Add account numbers in QuickBooks before using those accounts in a custom report.
Dimensions in custom reports
CloseCore shows QuickBooks Online location-tracking values under Department. QuickBooks Online custom reports do not offer a separate Location dimension. Class remains available as a separate dimension when class tracking is enabled.
QuickBooks Desktop / Enterprise
QuickBooks Desktop and Enterprise connect through Intuit's on-premise tooling, so this is a guided setup CloseCore helps you complete. You'll need:
- the QuickBooks Web Connector, and
- the QuickBooks Desktop SDK.
Because Desktop/Enterprise is often hosted (for example, via a cloud hosting provider), the exact steps depend on your environment. Reach out to CloseCore and we'll schedule a setup session.
Not ready to connect Desktop directly? You can also start with a trial balance import.
